Omar ElKhawas is a Counsel in the General Corporate, Commercial and Employment department. He represents and advises the firm’s clients on a broad range of legal matters including advisory, contractual arrangements, regulatory compliance, and related matters.

He has experience across a diverse range of industries, including technology, media and telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, logistics and supply chain, automotive, pharmaceutical and life sciences, digital payments, hospitality and retail, and real estate.

Omar brings over a decade of legal experience across top-tier private practice, in-house roles, and academic research. Among his career highlights, he served as a seconded internal legal counsel throughout the full legal re-platforming of a major global e-commerce operation in Egypt; a project spanning over a year that required restructuring the entity and rebuilding its entire legal infrastructure, including localizing all customer-facing policies, seller and vendor agreements, fulfillment and logistics arrangements, payment and data protection frameworks, and internal SOPs, while advising on product compliance across multiple categories and addressing regulatory requirements spanning consumer protection, employment, customs, and licensing before various authorities. Prior to that, he gained in-house experience in the banking and FMCG sectors and held research positions at universities in Egypt and Germany.
